Fixing the c000021a errors

Have you been been struggling with these kind of error?. I know I have. You windows machine just stop booting? Not even in safe mode?

After a lot of reading I think I found the optimal solution

This is what the kapersky guys suggest

Solution:Do the following to rectify the problem:

  • If there is another PC with the same version of the OS installed:

1. disconnect the hard drive from the computer on which you have the problem

2. connect it to another computer (to get access to a file system)

3. copy the following files from a normal computer to the computer on which you have the problem

C:\WINDOWS\system32\

asycfilt.dll

atl.dll

comcat.dll

mfc42.dll

msvcp60.dll

msvcrt.dll

oleaut32.dll

olepro32.dll

stdole2.tlb

4. connect the drive to the computer and load Windows

I found this solution much better than formating or reinstalling windows.

What you could also do, instead of using another computer, just do a seconds install of windows in your machine, and then just move the files.

Thank you.. This is the altimate solution that i found on the net .. WORKS

I used a CD bootable LINUX version and got the file from a working PC windows,
and using the linux that i booted in the fatal error PC to replace the files,
restarted the PC and woooooow it works …

Just a Question !! What caused this any way?

Sure it works, its on techfatale!!!.
My guess of what it cause it is as good as anyone out there, I am not really sure. But I probably think that this was cause because a really bad restart, maybe those files got corrupted in a powerdown or something related

    Thanks for sharing this!

I only had problems with expand in recovery console, it just didn’t expand the files with that dreaded error “The file could not be expanded”.

Then I booted in Safe Mode, expanded all those 9 files, went back again to Recovery console and copied those… worked!
