
There is nothing like good Free Open Source applications. First of all, you don’t have to worry about cracking or searching for a serial for the commercial applications(Do not tell me that you still pay for software…).
Second, most of the open source popular applications kick the hell out of the his commercial counter part.
And third, if you have some codding skills, you can go ahead and start playing with the code. Making it your own.
